"CALIFORNIA DREAM" BY PATRICK B RAY - NOW AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE
Patrick B Ray just released his second original song “California Dream” on Spotify and other streaming platforms.
This song dives into the feeling of being away from home, chasing a dream, and realizing that the grass may not always be greener on the other side. Patrick moved to California in 2014 and ultimately spent four years there before coming home to Texas. California holds many fond memories and Patrick always loves a trip out west, but there’s no place quite like Texas and he’s glad to be back, building his home in Texas.
Patrick enlisted Gus Alvarado (The Broken Spokes & Western Bling) on drums and Cody Angel on Steel Guitar and Lead Guitar to make this song come to life. Vocals, guitar, and bass are done by Patrick himself.
LYRICS
Stumble in to the street and out into the morning sun
Light up my last cigarette thank God the night is done
Well the weather man he told me that today it looks like rain
But there ain't no kind of downpour here that can wash away my pain
Now I'm a thousand miles from home and there ain't no in between
Never found no streets of gold or the California dream
Well I wander on this highway til the angels call me home
There ain't no use in turning back the past is all but gone
If you keep those nasty habits you're gonna wind up like your friends
The moonshine liquor ain't hot enough to burn away your sins
There's a rundown shack in the piney woods that's calling out my name
Spent 20 odd years breaking my back just to pay to play the game
Now I'm a thousand miles from home and there ain't no in between
Never found no streets of gold or the California dream
Well I wander on this highway til the angels call me home
There ain't no use in turning back the past is all but gone
Now I'm a thousand miles from home and there ain't no in between
Never found no streets of gold or the California dream
Well I wander on this highway til the angels call me home
There ain't no use in turning back the past is all but gone
Well I wander on this highway til the angels call me home
There ain't no use in turning back the past is all but gone
